I used straight vinegar on a damp rag, and straight CLR. Neither budged the spots.
I keep a small tube of Crest toothpaste in the shop for cleaning plastic lenses like taillights ect. I tried some of that and it removed the finish the same as compound. I also have a jug of 3M perfect-it #3, but that's too fine, it polished but did not remove the spots. I think I'll try 3M#2 after work today. Thanks.
