Is there scientific proof of the chemical make up of armor all that it damages vinyl?
I remember when I was a kid in the 70's my neighbor swore that using armor all is what caused the dash on his el camino to crack . He swore it off and stood by the above statement. When I started to drive I used the stuff religiously on the vinyl toneau cover on my pickup. Only thing it did was made it shiny. I have used the armor all wipes (I prefer the matte finish) on all of my cars for years and the only side effect I get is a clean, new looking dash. I guess I am lucky that it has never destroyed anything I own.
Being that I heard 40+yrs ago that Armor All is bad for a dash, I can only wonder if it is purely 'urban legend' at this point.
