Just to be clear, I believe these are latter-day wordings and not something from back in the day.
In Olds docs I've seen, they show a 1968 4-4-2 W30 as having a "W-Machine" package when that lingo was not used till 1969. It's like they have an Excel spreadsheet and give definitions for all the codes, but they end up being an umbrella for all the model years when the wording may only pertain to a smaller sample of years.
Did I explain that well? Whatever the case, JMHO.
