Method of underbody finish was the same between Fremont and Pontiac builds of my '71 233's. Same deal on similar dated parts cars I've owned. Have examined much more color coverage on the underbody on a few Lakewood plant builds, not sure if that was a trend all year long, or just an outlier.
detail differences I've been able to note in assembly are limited to style of bolt head markings, existence or non existance of a date code on the pass side flange of the hood (adjacent to the hood hinge), and the different plating on the small bolt noticeable on top of core support. dennis, were you ble to ck the AC box finish, existence of divet?
