I would keep the car, salvage everything good off it, find another one that needs restored and use all the salvage parts I could on it.

the transferred parts will make you feel the flags still flyin from the old car. especially that red interior. love the red interior.

no where near comparison on damage, I let all 3 of my sons drive my restored 455 m22 supercase rockcrusher 3.73 67 firebird. one slid on ice into -of all things- a school bus-. fender bender damage thank goodness.

I put an msd soft touch rev limiter on the car and mounted it hidden way up under the dash with a 3,000 rpm chip in it. i painted torque seal over the chip and checked it routinely to be sure they nvr found it and knew how to dis-able it! they never did, and i tested it a lot, 3,000 rpm was perfect for safe driving.
