Default Orbit orange in 71?

I'm trying to figure out if orbit orange was available on a 71 Lemans sport. GTO recognition guide and GTO A source book don't show it as one of the choices. Anyone know?

Eric White's GTO guide book also shows that it was not available in 1971, Bill.

Though it's not impossible that someone could have special ordered OO on a '71.

According to this paint chip from 1971 Pontiacs, it was available, but is noted as a 1970 spring color, whatever that means...

Sorry, Ebay won't allow us to save images anymore...:-(

This has been hashed out before.

The Sundance '72 GTO ducktail spoiler car belongs to John Skwirblies in IL. Real deal ducktail GTO (1 of 2?), though I've never seen the documentation with my own eyes.

Here are a few pics . . .

Just to clarify further. "Spring Color" means it was a limited run for a certain time period. Manufacturers often drop and add colors through a year to meet demand. Spring promos are part of this drop and add cycle. This would likely be a color available from March to mid May 1971 before it is replaced with either a new color or one that is in demand according to 10 day sales reports. Goldenrod Yellow was used as a promo color in 1969, it changed name in the early 70s Storm Yellow then returned to Goldenrod Yellow with a tie in for the 76 Formula Firebird. Odd that no literature has turned up about Orbit Orange as a promo color.

Default There's a vert for sale locally

I was interested in but,,,Turns out it's a LeMans sport not a GTO. No a/c-which I said I would never have another non a/c car, and it was originally some other color now orbit orange. If a car's been repainted I'd like it to at least be a factory color for the year.
