Exhaust Port Paint Discoloration
I know there has been a lot of discussion about engine paint and the paint burning off at the cylinder head exhaust ports and intake crossover. Has anyone recently found a solution to preventing that with all the new products on the market. As of now I was going with two coats of Duplicolor engine primer and a light dusting of engine paint per the article I read from Hot Rod magazine and Jim Taylor's restoration.

I use silver high temp paint on mine, not too heavy, and top it with a mist of engine color while it's still wet.
The photo shows what it usually looks like. I have to touch it up from time to time if I want to get the original engine color back but I never get flaky rust that has to be wire brushed or anything like that. Sent from my moto g stylus (2021) using Tapatalk
