1969 gto drag car
1969 Pontiac GTO
car has a 242 title Mild Steel 2x3 chassis with front struts and rear 4-link certified to 8.50 Dana 60 rear end, 4.88 gear with wilwood rear brakes. Coleman front struts with pinto style rack and front disc brakes. qa1 rear coilovers w afco springs anti roll bar by Gebhardts Pro Cars Fiberglass front end, hood, deck lid and rear bumpers. Steel body and doors. Lexan windows MSD 6AL w three step & electric shift Hurst pro stick shifter Aluminum radiator with single fan & tranny cooler. Car weighs just over 2500# with no driver. G Force camlock belts Centerline Convo Pro wheels 26x4.5 Goodyear front runners 33.5x15-15 D-5 Goodyear (approx 30-40 passes) new in 2012 Car can/ has fit a 33.5-17-16 tire on a 16x16 wheel with adequate room. Dedenbear crossover/interface delay box w/ quick disconnect for running box and no box quickly. dual ultima batteries. Car has run a best of 5.901@115 with a 1.28 60 ft with a 255# driver ( approx 2770 race weight) Usually runs high 5.9x/6.0x at around 440 ft elevation shifting at 6200 and launching between 3000-3800. The car runs virtually the same e.t. foot braking as it does off the transbrake. It is very versatile and driver friendly. It is a race car, and an older one at that, with battle scars and war wounds, but you will not find a better driving, beginner s/pro car. Car will enter the water box at 160, stage at 170, and reach 180 in the shutdown, and be cooled off by the time you reach the trailer. We have raced it off and on since the end of 09. The only full season we ran was in 2010 in which we won the super pro track championship at Midstate Dragway in Havana,IL by over 10 rounds. We have many pictures, and video of the car. It has a passenger seat, and a second set of out of date belts. Potential buyers can come down and ride along in it and see exactly what they are buying... I change the oil after every third race, run the valves every other month, and change plugs once a year. Other than charging and fueling the car, it is maitenence free. It is setup to shift at 6200 and goes through the 1/8 lights at 6300-6400. Motor Pontiac 455 block (467cid) Eagle cast 4.25 crank Eagle H Beam rods Ross pistons Melling 80# oil pump Canton deep pan. Car has coated headers and bullet mufflers. Belt driven mechanical fuel pump Powermaster Alternator and starter. Transmission Powerglide JW ultra bell 1.80 Vasco straight cut planetaries New dual ring servo and seals All new in 2010. TCI shield. PTC 5000 stall converter. New in 2011. $20,000 Firm Can also be bought with ... 28 ft Storm enclosed trailer. Aluminum wheels with good tires and good spare on steel wheel. Warn winch dual roof mounted ac/heat units. Electric jack sway bars aluminum cabinets w/ pit pal products. Craftsman tool box. diamond plate floor, white walls and ceiling. comes with plastic door strips for the side door. Generac Primepact Generator 7000 watts DVD/cd/stero player At one time, it had an awning on it, but was gone when we purchased it. Fits car, plus a 4 person golf cart end to end. Trailer is also not perfect, and it has some cosmetic flaws, but works great and is fully equipped.. $4,000 for the trailer Will sell car, or car and trailer. He is. He is a p.y. Guy and a fellow Pontiac racer from northern IL. It will nice for us that the car is staying half way close, and we could drive to see it at its new home track if we wanted too. A lot of good memories for me in it, not to mention my first super pro championship. It's a good car for sure!
