Default All Brake Pedals the same?

I am thinking about modifying an extra (73 and up) clutch and break pedal assembly that I have in an effort to make my own correct, 70 clutch pedal.

If the size/shape of the break pedals (the part that you put your foot on) are the same from 70 and up on FBs; Any reason I couldn't just remove the break pedal from the arm/lever that it is welded too and then weld that pedal in place of the smaller 73 and up clutch pedal? I believe that the clutch and break pedals (not the arm/lever it is welded to) are the same dimension in 70-72. I would just have to properly align the pedal on to the clutch arm/lever before welding. Anyone tried this before and any reason why this would not work? Thanks.

just cut the pedal off the automatic pedal, trim it to match the big brake pedal for a clutch, and weld it on..ive done it many times..i always hated the small pedal thing.

i dont even cut the little pedal off..i just weld the new one on top...i install them, set the pedal up, mark it, and pull it off and weld it up..

You can just take the small peddles out & put the big peddles inits place. The big peddles will fit in the same place as the small peddles perfect, I made a comment about hating the small paddles & a guy posed he just had to use the big peddles from a different car.If you have a set of that is both big peddles all you need to do is bolt them in place & your done.

Thanks for all of the good input and ideas. I may just cut the big break pedal and weld it on. Unless of course I can find the correct clutch pedal at a fair price.

I will try Marxjunk suggestion and cut the Auto brake pedal which is simple. Thanks Norwood but I think I can make my own but thanks for checking.

Job is done and looks great and no costs involved but a bit of time. Thanks marxjunk for the tip.
