Question Correct color turn signal bulbs for 70 T/A?

Both of my 70 T/A's have clear turn signal lenses, but one has amber bulbs while the other has clear bulbs

Thing is, the one with clear bulbs was a Canadian car and the original owner was pretty meticulous when it came to detail, so it makes me wonder if that's what was used up there back in the day

I prefer the look of the amber bulbs, but just cuirous what would've been correct.

I could be wrong but, 1970 - 1972 clear lens and amber bulb. 1973 amber lens clear bulb. I think it was changed by big brother for safety reasons.

Pixs of the turn signals from my '73 & '70.

The '70 turn signals are original.

I'd chalk it up to owner mistake upon replacing bulbs - or maybe the shop goofed up and the owner never noticed.

Our laws pertaining to vehicles and lighting in the past were virtually identical to what was required in the states, so an amber bulb would be the correct one, and I do believe that a clear signal is still illegal, and puts the vehicle owner in jeopardy of citation.

Over here in Sweden (Europe) amber parking lights are not allowed, but clear turn signal is fine. Maybe the same for Canadian cars back in the day?

I'm willing to stick my neck out, and say categorically;
"no those were not the same rules for Canadian cars."

No difference in lighting between US and Canadian Firebirds in 1970.
