Question Where you live

Anyone having any car related events happening where you live during this covid thing? I’ve been to one this year. Masks recommended but not mandatory. Cars parked a car space away from each other.

Both spring and fall Charlotte Autofair have been cancelled. There are usually small shows locally every weekend in the Raleigh area, and I think all of those have been cancelled.

I just googled Drag Race Show NC to see if the East Coast Dragtimes Hall of Fame & Reunion show held in mid-October in Henderson NC was still on. I found the car show has been cancelled, but I found "Illusions The Drag Queen Show Raleigh NC is going on tonight at 7PM. I don't think I will be attending.

We had the annual swap meet last week. They passed out fliers saying they were not responsible for getting sick, (basically). Some wore masks, most didn't, including me.

We've been having a monthly cruise night this summer. They did cancel one in July. Lots of cars and people.

Our local drag strip has run a few bracket races.

They're shut down now because of the hurricane damage.

Had a cruise/ car show event in early June. It was scaled back, they usually have a burn out contest and drag race. The fear was spectators being close together, smart thinking, my opinion, but this was before the second wave (which still hasn't affected us, BUT school started a week ago, we'll see how it goes, NOW)

Latest word, via here, The Great Bend event is still on!!! There's never really been enough people at that event. Great Bend is an awesome town, plenty of motel rooms, eating places. Track is awesome, concession food is great.

I plan to go to Great Bend. Not sure on my other regular attendee's. One has great risk factors, the other is busy clearing his land...

I stand in the Faith, that the shed blood of Jesus protects me!!! I'm also not foolish about my personal business!!!

A car club that I helped start years ago had our annual show Steel in Motion on May 15 and 16 this year. It attracts 1000's of people and 100s of car from all over the US. Local people tried to shut us down but it didn't work and probably made it our 2nd or 3rd largest show ever and this was the 11th or 12th year I can't remember.

They had a classic car event at a drive-in in a town that's a couple hundred miles out from here Too far for me with no overdrive. Drive-ins are hugely popular here right now.

Atlanta, Ga area is basically dead as a doornail. I sigh every time I walk past my long idle cars and shake my head.

Went to a local car show today. Took place at a local body shop, had a pretty decent turnout.

Our club has a cruise in at the Sonic the second Saturday of the month and another one at the Home Depot the fourth Saturday. Turnout has been fair to middlin!

Terry there is a pretty good cruise night in Gainesville. I think they've had 3 already this year. The second one I attended had over 120 cars! I think it's the second Saturday night.

We've had some local cruise nights, some 'Donuts and Coffee' on Saturday mornings but no big shows. Pontiacs in Pigeon Forge is still on for October 16 I think is the date. Same day is the BOPC in Atlanta.

No shows at all up here in West Coast of Canada. Not allowed more than 50 people in any function. Can do cruise if you stay in your car at starting point. No races or swap meets. Bad Boring year. But if you want to go camping, that is allowed, LOL more than 50 people in campsite, but race track not allowed to have camping at facility, so got shut down. It's a messed up world. Guy from Texas was caught in Tourist area and told Border he was on way to Alaska, but he told waiter what happened, waiter told cops and he could be up for $750,000.00 fine or 6 months in jail for fraud at Border.

I guess I'm happy I'm not a drag racer, or a car show participant. The dirt tracks are open weekly, since June all around Ohio. My wife and I have been to 3 races so far this year. We expect to attend next weekend for the labor day double header with the All Star Circuit Of Champions Sprint Car traveling circuit.

Masks aren't required, they're suggested that people wear them. It's probably 30% people wearing masks, but they do help with the dust by the end of the night. I'm not fond of wearing one, especially outside. Since the pores in most masks are way to large to catch a virus, and few fit air tight leaving gaps, the benefits are pretty dubious.

Everything around here has been canceled. I have had the car out a few times, just to drive it. Another reason that I have not had the car out is the county road department. After years of neglect they are doing a chip and seal on all of the county roads. Pea gravel and a very very heavy coating of thin tar. They do a road and it is at least two weeks before you can drive down it without hearing gravel rattle inside the fender wells.

My cars are all in storage due to moving and job loss and relocation, so I haven't even bothered to check. I sure miss them...
