Default Removing 66 GTO sail panels

How do you remove the sail panels on a 66 GTO? I need to remove the factory ones to replace them with new panels and I don't have a GTO body manual yet.

Thanks,
Doug

Come on now, I know some of you have had to remove your sail panels to install new ones. I need some info so I can do mine.

Thanks,
Doug

Question

Aren't these attached to the headliner?

Alright, I'll take a stab at it. It seems to me that on my '68 and other cars I've looked at, they are simply captured into place by a combination of the rear seatback, the package tray, the rear glass lacing and the rear quarter interior panel and window trim. Start taking that stuff out until you can pull the sailpanel out.
Disclaimer- I could be wrong.

There are 2 clips similar to door panel clips. I know the wrong way to remove them . With the window lace removed I believe if you slide the sail panel towards the back window and slightly lift the fron of the panel up. It should come off. My car 66 tempest is torn apart and I could take some pics if no one has any better input.

I don't think that you need to slide the panel back just pull off. The problem is that the clips tend to pull out of the sail panel cardboard. You can make new ones pretty easily. The front and back edges are glued down under the window lace.
