Hey, I am going to use the Vinyl self-adhesive insert on my 1967 GTO. Do I need to remove the old one or just stick the new one over the old one. Looking back I saw where Chief Pontiyacker said that Performance Pontiac Magazine did a story on this. Does anyone know what issue. I have one where they redid the dash gauges, but did not see anything on the vinyl replacement. Thanks for all the help on this basket case. I am replacing the lens, and adding a clock, and painting the dash black.

Dave~
I was the one that origonally asked the question and here is what I did. I just stuck the vinyl to the plastic. This was mostly out of necessity due to the fact that I did not have the aluminum backing plate to the vinyl dash cover. If you have it, I woudl suggest removing it completely, stripping it, and then placing the vinyl on it. Of course, I have seen it the other way as well. It is totally a preference thing, and how much time you have to do the dash. I have pic of the end result for my dash restoration if you want one. Just drop me an e-mail and I will send it to you. Good luck......it take a little time, but if done right, will look great!
