Default '69 GTO Convertible - Resto almost finished

Pretty much finished with the restoration on my convertible. Burgundy with original black interior, black top, four-speed, power steering, power brakes, hideaways, 3.55 safe-t-track, am/fm, eight track, console, all five original rally II's, soft ray glass, cornering lamps and a few other options. Matching numbers from the carb to the rear.

Always a Virginia car, was in storage from 1975-2007. 68,500 documented original miles. Original sheet metal, never rusty. May sell it in the spring.

Looks great and nice job. I remember posting about the car when it was on ebay at the guys warehouse that seemed to be a time capsule of old cars that were bought and just "put away". He also had a 70 455 a/c convertible that was green on green that has been sold a few times too.

Mark - great memory! The seller bought 10-12 muscle cars in the 70's and stored most of them in his warehouse. A couple of them were his favorites and he drove them. Most of them, my '69 included, were just tucked away.

I found a gas receipt from 1971 under the seat of my '69 and was able to find the original owner.

He also had a '69 pace car Camaro and some other cool cars. The green '70 was a nice car, but he wanted a lot for it.

I remember when you scored it on eBay too.
Was in great shape - but had a tired old Resale-Red color change if memory serves.

It sure looks great now !
Super super nice.

Thanks for the kind words on the GTO.

You are correct Baron. It was re-painted red someone before it was stored in '75.

The seller also had a '69 Firebird 400 convertible with a four speed.
