The easiest way would be to find the window sticker, build sheet or PHS documentation. If you're trying to identify it on the car, you'll find either 15x8 aluminum snowflakes or Turbo style wheels(79 10th Anniv or 80-81). Also look for urethane front sway bar end links or the .750" rear sway bar. Measure the bar by taking a string and go around it(diameter), lay the string flat and measure it. Take that measurement divided by 3.14 and you'll either have something close to .625" or .750" Without factory documentation, it's kind of hard to tell otherwise. They'll have the 14:1 constant ratio steering as well.

Another clue is the round metal braces that connect the rear mount of the lower control arm bracket to the frame. These braces are approximately 4 inches long and are visible from underneath the car.

the trim tag on the firewall will have the ws6 option code on it also. mike

Mike, is that for sure? I know the body tags all had "WS4" on the T/A's but I was never aware of "WS6"

i've had a customers car in that was marked ws6 on the cowl , it was a 78 trans am. i also have a freind that has owned an 81 bandit edition ws6 t/a and a formula that was ws6. unfortunately the formula was totaled. it was a factory 4spd car,342 posi with a 301. all of these cars were marked ws6 on the cowl tag. mike
