Default Were Brake Drums Painted from Factory?

I'm wondering if the brake drums on a GTO would have been unpainted (a natural cast iron) from the factory or if they received some semi-gloss black paint prior to going to the dealership. My four wheel drum car, an Arlington, Texas built GTO is low miles (60K) and they are black and appear OEM, but I'm third owner and I'm not certain it the drums were painted somewhere along the line. Others knowledge and experiences?

There would be paint on them if equipped with Rally II rims.

Default Rally II car

Good point- the car I have is a drum brake rally II car. It sounds like the semi-gloss black is from the factory then.
