Any corvette guys here? Exhaust question.
I have a customer with a 1974 corvette. Talked the owner who is not a car guy out of headers and into manifolds.
This set https://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G9200B At the time these seemed like a good idea. I am struggling to find a stainless exhaust for a 1974 that will bolt up to 2.5" manifolds. Any suggestions? |

Well since he’s not a car guy as you say then just go with a standard repro set of manifolds, I am sure he will not notice the difference.
In fact getting the old interior rust scaled up exh parts off the motor and the car will pick up the Hp all on its own! I have been at a dyno test of a race motor where rust scaled up headers cut a crazy amount of hp off the motor.

I did a quick search I see lots of options from $200-$1500 depending on what you want. Eckler, Pypes, Corvette Central plus a few more all carry them. Actually saw manifolds new for $150 like the set you posted. Good luck with it.

Biggest problem I found with stock replacement manifolds was the air pump holes. Thought they looked hideous and I haven't found a set without them

Pretty sure the early C2 "ram's horns" will fit as the chassis is basically the same. No air pump holes. Most are 2.5".
Circle track shop Brezenski's used to cut them open port and reweld for classes that required manifolds. Same on iron intakes.

Exhaust systems on C3s are a giant pain in the ass. Nobody makes anything worth the money they ask. I ended up having an exhaust shop bend up 2.5" pipes into Flowmaster 40s.

I think the ones on the Corvette I pictured were made by a muffler shop. 2.5" not mandrel into side pipes.
