Rubber removal from rear quarters.
Just a heads up. I have used bug and tar remover, WD40, and a couple other removers. But I am currently using these Wipes, they work very good in removing the rubber. It took very little scrubbing effort to remover the rubber. Its accumulated over the last 3 trips to the track. But it wiped off. It takes a few wipes per side but they get a big thumbs up from me. 👍

There is a protective clear spray that is made that just peals off in a sheet when you want it to.

I started using Slick Mist on the quarters to make removal of the burnout rubber an easy job. I use a wet rag (hot water) to wipe off the rubber and then spray on a new coating right after the cleanup so the car is ready for the next trip to the track.

Any chance you have a product name? I took painters tape this past year and applied it inside the wheel wells and side panel. worked very well. Just peel off at the end of the year.

Do you apply the baby oil before racing or you wipe it off?

Sorry, should have explained better.
I use it on a rag to wipe off what is already on there. Also works good on road tar.

I found painters tape to work the best. I usually have to go over the panel with grease and wax remover so it will stick. The biggest issue is the colors are limited.

PAM if OK as long as you wipe it down same weekend. A month or so later it dries and is hard to get off!! Luckily the 78 was painted in polyurethane Glasurit so I could worse case wipe it down with lacquer thinner.

Geddex burnout guard spray works great - dries clear, easy wipe off after racing even after multiple events

Spray the area with wd-40 before you go racing most rubber won’t stick and what does comes off very easy.

You really don't want anything that is oil related in my opinion. Some of these water boxes have way too much water laid down. I always brush excessive water out of the burn out box before my wife enters. If any water gets in the wheel well it drop on the slick. You want minimal water so even the front tires do not drag it onto the rear slicks after your burn out.

I tried this stuff, it's not bad. The painters tape is the best so far for us. Leave on all season. Blue, same color as car.

My understanding, the clear coat is something different..I've heard of it from Autobody shop. They spray it when doing a panel on a car or spray the whole care. Some of it just washes off, some peels off after it cures.
