Default Reunited with my 1967 GTO after 20 years!

Hey PY members! Long time member here but haven't posted in a long time. To make a long story short - Bought a 1967 GTO off Ebay back in 2004 but was forced to sell due to a divorce. Told the new owner that if he ever sells, to let me know.... Welp, 20 years later, I got call that I had hoped for! He was selling!!! Told the "new" wife the story and she immediately said.. "You have to buy that car!!" (Hence the reason she's the "new" wife) LOL.

I finally have my old car back in my garage after 20 years!! Beyond excited!

Here's a little about the car:
1967 Pontiac GTO HO
Bench Seat / Column Automatic
Originally a Tyrol Blue car

I think the saying goes like this,

"if you set something free and it comes back to you, ............ it's meant to be yours'

congratulations

Sweet, great looking car and awesome story, hopefully he didn't butcher it and you got a driver for a long time.

I'm sure you're kicking yourself when you saw the price change not only just from inflation from 20 years but the cars collectible demand value. Now think 20 from now, damn.

BTW, love your car in that blue more than Tyrol or Warwick etc even though my 69 is Crystal Turquise/Warwick blend and I think 68-69 convertibles look best in that.

Cool.. same color as mine!. I had the reverse story a while back. The son of the guy I bought mine from was going thru his father's paperwork after his dad passed. He searched my name on facebook and I have a pic of the car on my profile; He sent a message with a pic of the bill of sale...caught my attention. The car now doesn't look much different from when the son was driving it.

His dad sold the car after the kids replaced engines several times and finally bent it up one night. '67 GTO, bought it with a refreshed (standard rebuild) 455 in it.

George

Great story. Great car and 'new' wife as well. The guy you sold it to sure took good care of it. We're all just 'custodians' of history. Thanks for the post.

As someone who got a car back from the shop last fall after a 19-year stay, I can appreciate the "coming home" feeling when getting behind the wheel again. (If only I could roll back the clock on my daughters and get a do-over from when they were 5 or 6...).

Congrats on being reunited, Brian, and best of luck. A beautiful car and a beautiful wife who seems to appreciate it: what else could one want? :-)

Drive it in good health - for years to come.

Great story, I love reading about people who "get it back". I've kept mine all these years. Too selfish to let it go, I guess.
