88-89 16x8 GTA rear wheel offset
Am I correct that the rear GTA wheels have a 16mm negative offset that can be brought to a zero offset with the use of a 16mm spacer?
Or is the other way around (positive offset so a spacer won't work)? I want to use a set on a 2nd gen Trans Am.

I can try and measure one this weekend.Yes "rears" would take a spacer to get to "zero", as they have more backspace than the fronts.
I did fit "rears" on the rear of my 78 with 255-50-16s on it no problems. |

Thanks, Skip. I ended up passing on the wheels I found, and I found some stuff that says its 16 to 20mm, so I'll just keep looking.

i used a small shim with 275/50's on my gta wheels; looked great, fit perfectly.
spacer was 3/8" if i recall.

Back space 5 5/16".
Be neat if Stockton could take one and widen it to a almost zero offset 10"! |

On one of my cars, I run the backs on the front, and the fronts on the rear.
Since my car is dropped almost 2 and a half inches in the front, the rears (which sit on the front of the car) are tucked up under the fender lip real nice. Maybe if my car was slammed in the front, I would try all fronts. George |
