Default 68/69 HOOD REPAIR QUESTION

Fellow Forum Members,

I have a Ram Air III hood thats in good condition except the underside frame structure is rusted out bad. Is it possible to remove the skin from a lemans or tempest hood and change out the underside of the hood? Also anyone ever cut the center out of a GTO hood and replaced it on a lemans hood?

Thanks,
Larry

Anything is possible, the question should be is it worth the trouble? Repro hoods fit & look good. I doubt for the price of a repro you could change out (or want to) the inner structure on an original hood.

Now if it was a 69 TA hood that would be a different story!

I wanted to graft scoops onto my firebird hood. GTO scoops look the same, maybe we could work out a deal if you decide to trash the hood and go repro.

PM me if you go that route.
