Default Steel wheel question

So I've got three matching, properly dated steelies for my 68 GTO, I've been on a search for two more for a couple of years. Anyway a ways back I bought a couple to tide me over ... supposed to be 60s era Pontiac steelies ... today I tried to fit some original Pontiac dog dishes on them and they don't fit. The lugs that catch the dog dish are just a tad too large in OD. They fit the original dated wheels just fine.

My question is, were there small differences in wheels between different make GM cars? Was there a change in the 70's or something that would cause this? They are all 14x6 typical GM steelies.

Contact a user by the username of 'TOYSWEDO'.... Seems to be the wheel guy. He may even have the ones you are searching for.

I think he actually contacted me once. Recognize the name.

I still dream that I can find a couple dated within a few days of what I have ... which are all consecutive dates.

Can you post a picture of what wheel you seek (one of your current wheels)? As winter has finally given up (I remain hopeful) and I can get at parts and cars soon, I went looking at my partial collection in the garage at home. most of my wheels are in storage but I have 10 short stacks (sets) here.

I have a pile of steelies but they are all different. Or course I have sets of Rally IIs, two sets of Rally I's... Here are some quick pictures.

Here is a picture of the codes.

I'll post a pic of a wheel later tonight.

Here are couple of photos of what I'm looking for.

These are "M" code wheels made by Motor Wheel in Michigan. They are constructed differently than the same HG code wheels made by Kelsey Hays.

The openings between the center section and the wheel rim are folded over on "M" code wheels, they are "cut" on the Kelsey wheels. On the back the tabs welded to the rim section are shorter on the M code wheels (a lot shorter).

I have two similar wheels. One is HF 10/42/68 date. The other, strangely, has an inverted V on one side and a B on the other.

I'm definitely going to need HG code for sure. Appreciate you taking a look though.
