Default Hot Rod Power Tour

Is anyone from here doing the power tour this year. It is something that I have always wanted to do. This year it is in my part of the country so I will be doing my first power tour in a little over a week. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the Long Haul tickets would sell out so I will be starting at the second stop, Columbia SC. I goes from Columbia to Rockingham Motor Speedway, Z-Max Drag Strip and ends at Bristol Motor Speedway.
I'm guessing that I will have the only Beaumont on the tour.
I'm looking forward to it.

When you complete your part of the Power Tour, report back here what it was like and what you did other than just the drive. I was interested in doing some or all of the Power Tour as well for several years. I have a car ready to run the event now but didn't have enough miles on it yet to guarantee no breakdowns.

Yea I’d be curious as well. It’s been near me the last several years and I’d planned to run part of it at least but never could. Next time it’s nearby I’d like to try it

I did the HRPT in 2004 in my 78 Trans Am. 2800 miles from my house and back. TA ran flawlessly !
About 5000 cars to look at rolling and parked.
Occasional burnouts, Stop light races, highway blasts.
Might make new friends ?
I also did 3 days in 2003, wife had to get back to work or we would have finished it.
HR took a pic of my car stopped in the middle of the street and put it in a full page article in 2004.
I think my license plate helped. "THKFAST"

You won't be disappointed .

I went on the first East Coast Power Tour but only went to the first stop. The next year my youngest son and I were going to go further. On the first day I had an accident and did over $9,000 damage to my car.

I did the 2011 in my old Falcon station wagon. HORRIBLY hot weather that year, over 100 degrees nearly everywhere we went. Put 4,400 miles on the car on that trip, and finished in the top-10 at both dragstrip stops (won cases of Royal Purple both times). My then 16 year old son and his best friend were my co-pilots.
