Default 2018 Suburban rides like a short bed pickup truck.

My wife complained to me today about the way her suburban drives. I figured she’s nuts. I took it for a spin, and sure enough the front end bounces like a shortbed pickup with a lift kit.
The struts aren’t blown, I suspect it has something to do with the sensors. I then checked the screen on the dashboard where it lets you know the ride level-it’s BLANK.
I hooked my scanner up and no codes, but it’s not an engine issue, so that makes sense. No error message either.
Any ideas?

Boy, after researching this on the webs, not a lot of info really. The struts wear out like any others, but it’s weird that the ride height screen on the dashboard isn’t working either. I checked for blown fuses today, found none.

What kind of scanner do you have? Typically you need a fairly sophisticated scanner that have the ability to turn functions on and off. Does the Suburban have Magnaride shocks?

I think that’s what it’s called. It’s those electronic controlled struts.
It’s a basic $150 scanner and I can clear errors with it, nothing like a dealership would have.
I just worry if I put new struts on, it turns out to be an electrical or computer problem, or spend forever trying to diagnose it, but it’s simply worn out struts.
One problem is my wife is oblivious to when it started, and I only drive it every few months. My kids said they noticed it more like a couple weeks ago, my wife claims it’s been doing it for months?
Most shocks and struts don’t go that quickly, they gradually get bad, so I don’t know what to think.

With no ride height/level information I would lean towards the sensors too. Looks like a lot of folks just end up swapping the system out!

Disconnect the battery 10 mins and reconnect, unplug the sensors at front struts and drive it and see if it is a softer ride. If it is plug them back in and see what it does.

I had a '17 Yukon with the Magnetic Ride Control and now have the '23 with MRC and air ride. Never had any problems with the suspension, but here's a forum I've mainly used to figure out how to work the super complicated electronics:

I wonder how the vehicle would ride if it never had "magnetic ride control".
