Default Glove Box Hinge to Dash Screws

I have three original glove box hinges, the two screws that attached the glove box door to the hinge fit fine. The screws that attach the hinge to the dash are too small. I set the screw in the hole and it drops all the way to the head of the screw. I even went as far as buying a new hinge and screw set, the two screws for the glove box door are perfect fit, the three for the hinge to dash are again too small.

Is there a backer plate the screws are supposed to screw into? Or did some assclown drill the holes larger....

Thanks

DM3

Post some pics. Two different screws were used. Let's see what you have.

I am missing the clips that mount over the holes and the screws - screw into.

Anyone have 3 extra laying around?

After buying three different glove box doors, and trying to find screws that fit the holes in the dash support and hinge, it is finally mounted in the car.

I have no idea that there were clips that needed to be installed until I looked at a friends car.

My original glove box door was welded shut and had no clips after it was carefully cut out.
