Default 68-72 4-speed restoration

I need opinions and guidance on a 4-speed console. Do I find someone to restore my console, try to buy and dye/paint an OE console, or are the reproductions the way to go? I really prefer OE for this car but am interested in getting some guidance.

Thx!

Try it your self and if it does not turn out well look for other options.

Sent my console and lid to Just Dashes for my ‘72, came back looking great. Wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. $400 for the console, $100 for the lid.
