Looking at a 67 firebird that has a different motor in it. The motor in it I am told is a 69 YH coded motor. What is this out of and what is the displacement and horsepower. The only books I have are on firebirds and they don't list a 69 YH motor at all. I am thinking it is out of a GTO possibly. Any help would be apprecitated.

455HO:
IN MY BOOKS I FOUND FIVE MOTORS. YOU HAVE TO FIND OUT THE DATE OF THE MOTOR. YH IN 1969 IS A 428 360 HP. YH IN 1970 IS A 455 360 HP. ALL ARE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MOTORS. DO YOU KNOW WHERE TO FIND THE DATE CODES? IF NOT LET ME KNOW AND I WILL TELL YOU. I JUST FOUND THAT IN 1968 YH IS A 428 375 HP. 1967 428 376 HP. 1965 421 338 HP. THIS WEB PAGE WILL TELL YOU HOW TO FIND THE DATE OF YOU MOTOR. www.boyleworks.com/ta400/psp/blockid.html [This message has been edited by LILL WARRIOR (edited 02-05-2000).] |

Lill Warrior, thanks for the help and the web site. The car may be sold after all and I wont' be able to physically check it myself. If it's not sold I will let you know what it is exactly. Thanks again.
