Default CAD Drawing program needed

Does anyone know of a low cost CAD program I could use for drawing? I need to put together some electrical schematics and panel assemblies.
Autocad is quite expensive! 900.00 for the full LT 2008 package.

Thanks!

Auto Sketch is a good program that will convert to and from Auto Cad. It includes a ton of symbols library's. Cost is around $120.

I have used both and they are similar in how they layer, etc.

Tim.

If you know anyone still in college, try looking at what on-campus prices are for ACAD LT and the like. You'd be surprised at what is offered and at what prices to college students. I picked up a copy of MS-Office that way for around $80 (full cost was about $400 at the time).

Default student cost is good route to explore

you can try something like this
http://www.cadcampus.delmar.cengage.com/#autocadlt

It can be ordered by k-12 students, facility or college students, do you have kids? you could buy it for them. and of course use it too.

Looks like $149 or 159 if you qualify

good luck
Howard

I just got a copy of AutoCAD 2008 - but I never tried it. I also have a AutoCAD 2007 - that I use daily.
These are full working versions - not LT.
Send me an email (mmandell@att.net) or PM if you still need it and I can arrange to send you a copy of the disk.
If you have access to an FTP server I might be able to upload the files to it.

Mike
