Default 1965 Trunk Release FYI

As most of you are aware most 64-70 trunk latches are very similar. I decided to try a 69-70 GTO/GP electric trunk release. I trimmed the latch opening 1/4 and it works great! I did smooth out the tumbler as it rubbed on the inner latch mounting surface. This could also be done shimming the latch.

Final assembly and testing tonight, works like a charm! When I reinstalled my torsion bars, I backed them off a notch. This keeps the lid from flinging open!

Another shot, this appears it will work with the original lock/rod!
