Default 65 66 Rear Seat Speaker Housing ??

I have 2 different kinds of rear seat speaker housings. On one, the divider bars are attached to the mesh, on the other they are cast as part of the housing. Mesh is also different. Is one a 65 and the other a 66 or could they be from different manufacturers?

In my experience '65 has round perforations & '66 has the ones as pictured on the far Right. I have never seen either with the screen portion as a separate item. They have all been riveted together. I have probably had 10 different ones over time. Most '66.

That's interesting. I have never noticed that before. I will check mine tonight on my 66. I also have a seat out of a 65 and check it also to see if they are different.

May have to add to my list.

My original '66 has thin oval shape holes and the rechromed one I purchased from Bob has the exact same holes.

I checked mine on my 66. It is the same as the third picture. I also have a rear seat out of a 65 Cat conv. It has the same frame but the screen has round perforated holes. I'll post a pic when I can upload it.

I wonder if the other frame type might have come from a Parisienne. Maybe they used the same frame in it and a Canadian Impala. They just swapped the screens.

This is the shape of the holes on my original 1966 speaker grill which is the exact same as the rechromed one I purchased from Bob ...
