Will these Cragar fit 66 Tempest
I was wondering if these will fit on all four corners. Also if they do what tire recommendations does anyone have.
Cragar 08/61 Series S/S Wheel Size: 15'' x 8'' Bolt Circle: 5 x 5'' (14mm) Rear Spacing: 4.-1/8'' 260-08865 Thanks

If those are unilug they range from 4 1/2" to 5" bolt pattern i so than they will fit. Your's is a 4 3/4" bolt pattern.Tire size depends if you want big & littles or whatever.
15 x 8 will take some wider tires, like a 235 60 15 all the way around. Do you want to be able to rotate tires?

Not enough backspacing to fit on the front.
The rears are also going to be tight, scraping the outside sidewall over every bump is a real possibility. A bad fit all around. I have 17X8s with 4.5" backspace (rear spacing) all around on my '64, the 235/45-17 tires are barely wider at the sidewall than the actual rim lip-to-lip width (9"). The tires are about as far towards the outside as they can be without rubbing. Low-profile 17" tires don't have nearly as much sidewall bulge for a given treadwidth compared to 15" tires. Just about any decent-size tire you put on a 15X8" wheel is going to have a pretty good sidewall bulge, you can't afford too much of that. A 7" wide rim with the same 4-1/8" backspace would be fine, but to run an 8" wide wheel you'll really need 4-3/4" to 5" of backspace. I'll never understand why so many wide aftermarket wheels are made for our cars with insufficient backspacing.

The 15 X 8 Cragar S/S's I run on the back have 4.25" b/s. On my 69 that leaves about 1/4" between the 255/60-15's I run on the back and the wheelwell. Never rub.
No way they'd fit on the front of my 69. I use 14 X 7's with 245/60-14 tires

I've fit 245 50 16 with 4 3/4 bs wheels and also had 15 x 8 1/2 coke bottle daisy ar 200's on my 66 without problems and those had 3 3/4 bs, I don't see how the 15 x 8's would be differant .

Thanks for the help everyone.
So 15X8 4 3/4 bs will not be a problem on all 4 corners. So the next thing is what size tire..... 235 x 60 x15 all the way around hopefully without a clearance problem.

235's is what I have - no rub unless really pushing it.

Now look at Torq Thrust II I guess no unilug is better, very pricy. I guess the 3.75 backspace should be ok with 235 x 60 x15 all the way around
Part Number: ARE-5055861 Wheel, Torq-Thrust II, Aluminum, Polished, 15 in. x 8 in., 5 x 4.75 in. Bolt Circle, 3.75 in. Backspace, Each

Quote:
Even running 235/60-15 tires won't make up for the lack of backspace, those rims need 1" more backspacing to work. |

You would recommend 4.75" BS?
