Rubber seals between core support and radiator?
Saw these in the Ames Catalog. Does anyone have these installed on their car? I am putting the front clip back on my wife's 68 convertible and don't recall any rubber seals between the core support and radiator. I can't picture how these would be installed. Could someone post a pic and point them out?

Just came across this thread by pure chance. Is this the seals in question:

Those fillers, plus the upper and lower medal baffles, were on 1st Gens equipped with 400s and/or AC. So, if your 350 does not have AC, it would not have had them from the factory.

Makes perfect sense. The numbers engine is a 350 but we've bagged and tagged it and swapped it for a 400. It was also a non-AC car being a convertible but we're adding Vintage Air so if these help improve cooling, then I'll likely add them anyway. Thanks!!

Good idea. Your adding the upper and lower metal parts too?

It has the upper filler panels, which is what I think your referring to and a lower air dam that mounts under the chin but that's fiberglass (at least the one that came with the car is). Are there other lower metal parts I should consider? The lower baffles referred to above?

Those lower baffles were hard to find 6-7 years ago when I needed one for my convertible.

I sold quite a few near perfect ones 10 years ago for $200. Kind of like the price of original shakers... |

Last month we finally started putting the car together again and on a whim I checked ebay and boom, RH side cocktail shaker right here in Tx, up in Dallas. Hit the BIN. Paid ~$300 for it with shipping. Speaking of that, I bought these brackets from Ames as well but I don't recall seeing them on the front cocktails. Anyone have pics showing how/where these are used? I have the 69 Assembly Manual and don't think they're pictured in the drawing either.

Regarding the lower baffle, the crappy repops are fiberglass, and crumble the first time you hit a curb or something else under the car. OEM ones were steel like the upper x-baffles. Oh, and a full set of four shakers used to sell for about $100 back in '06-'08 date range. Became extremely hard to find about 2012. |

Hey!! Have you driven your 2004R yet? I should have my car finished in the next couple of weeks to take a test drive. Not really super confident how its going to go. If not, looks like I'll beat you to it.
