Distributor installed 180 out? '58 370
Will the distributor actually go into place 180 degrees out?

Yes, yes is the answer to that question. Just did it. Well, fixed one that was 180 out....

Or you could just move the wires a half turn counter clockwise. Chevy guys would probably move the wires a half turn clockwise instead.

Yes it will, and if the engine fires it will blow your muffler. Ask me how I know.

Been there, done that. One brand new muffler turned inside out.

Not only have I seen someone do that (Chevy guy working on a Pontiac) but I've also saw one put all the rods on the crank journals with the chamfer to the inside instead of the outside of the jounal. Because they started the first rod/piston assembly in the no.1hole, which puts it to the back of the journal thinking it was a Chevy. He found out fast when the bearings all heated up and wiped out. It also squeeked--just a little---. Mark L
