i don't see why anyone would pay 10.5 k more than something is worth for anything. its like scalping tickets. i sure could have a perfect chassis for my 66 for the same 10.5, and the 66 is gaining value and not losing it like the new one. (IMHO)

Lots of easy money to be made in CA obviously. If this keeps up I may just have to offload the one I have on order.

Continuation of last post:
I traded in a 95 Explorer that was loaded and it had 92000 miles on it, so the sales manager said to offer him $2500.00 for it. He bought a new Explorer for $2000.00 over invoice and let us have his trade for $2500.00, five days later his trade sold for $10300.00 in the used car lot, the customer got screwed big time.........

Hmmmmmmm. First, we get German Fords and Buicks (Opel); then it's Mexican Volkswagens and "American" Japanese cars. So, now we get an Australian GTO. Yeah.

Just a case where a fool has more money than brains.

Look at the PT's, Beatles, T-Birds, Cobra's, etc. All, when first introduced, sold for more than sticker. C5 included.

Wait 6 months and you will be able to get one at around invoice.

I said that the new one was losing value because as soon as it drives off the lot it won't be worth sticker price, let alone sticker price + 10.5 k. 6 months from now there should be plenty available. however, whatever floats your boat. that person might not want to put the time and money i have into that 66 either !!!

Check their feedback. I wouldn't buy anything from anyone with feedback that bad.

KEVGTO,
People are just bidding on the "right to buy" the car. The actual price for the car is in addition to this auction. In short words, if you were to win this auction for $12,000, you would have won the "right to buy" a GTO from a named Pontiac dealer. You would then have to pay the sticker price for the new GTO.

example:
$12,000 ("right to buy auction")
$35,000 (sticker price on a new GTO?)
________
$47,000 (total) + taxes, tags, etc...

The right to buy scheme "usually" guarantees that you will get the car without being put on waiting lists, etc...

it is very rare that sticker price holds on anything. I know a guy who bought a 50th anny vette for 8 grans less the sticker and it had 256 miles on it, apparently some guy bought it and then returned it when the wife found out:-p

Friends don't let friends buy the new GTO, oR DRINK DIET MT DEW

First of all, 24 seems like alot, must be buying from other dealers at sticker and then selling through this auction. Why, why, why would anyone bid with this dealer? That feedback looks like a "do not do business with" poster child. I don't care how much money someone has, that IS really stupid. The only cool thing is that someone is willing to put up that kind of ging for this car.

BJ, you can use stronger terms than Dork, we can take it! You know when I said Fart I meant F%$#.

Tails, welcome to the "dark side," be cautious it gets rough over here...

This guy is some kind of "broker" setting up deals with sellers to get a piece of the action. He has no idea if the cars are available at the time of auction's end.

This is as fraudulent as the "seller ended auction early" crap when they don't like the bids they are getting for their car. Try that at a real auction. That's why you pay extra for setting a reserve you dipwads!

what's the catch guys? I don't get it. It says the reserve is done met and barely over 10,500.
I thought these were selling for around 30,000?

There may initially be a short waiting list for that car. Why I don't know. Anybody stupid enough to pay that kind of money extra to get one of the first, is well. STUPID
