Can you change the filter and fluid and retry?
Could be low on fluid, crack in pickup tube, restrictive filter, etc. Could be really lame programming, or Vac modulator adjuster needs CW turns. HIS |

Sounds like low line pressure. When its in manual low or manual 2nd, the line pressure goes up for high demand driving. When its in drive, the line pressure is lower. Changing the filter like HIS mentioned isnt a bad idea. I would also check the governor.

How about that fluid? Does it look red&clear or is it milky, cloudy, as if the Converter's Stator lost it's pressed-aluminum fit to the sprag and sent fragments of aluminum into the system and clogged the valvebody...just asking.
