I have a 70 SJ w/ saddle leather. How can I go about getting the correct leather to have them redone?

I've been seeing ads in Hemmings and others on a company called Spineybeck leathers... maybe they have what you need.

My trimmer is doing two sets of 70 GP leather now, cost is about $1100 for the grained vinyl, or $1900 for leather. Very hard to tell them apart unless you lookon the back. Grained vinyl supposedly doesn't crack like the leather should look nicer longer.
He is building both sets from scratch, and I will have patterns available for others should they want to do the leather interior. But the buttons are unique and I have not been able to source them, though there might be a repro option in the works. I should have the seats back to me in a month, I'll post a few pics. I likely could have seat covers made up for you but you would have to install them locally. |

Thanks, I just noticed your reply. I would like to see them. Also my car has black seat belts with the saddle leather. Is that correct. I'm only the third owner and I've had it 15 years. Maybe it's 1 of 5 also, or maybe even rarer. It could have been built the day they had the color blind guy installing seatbelts.

Non deluxe belts (without chrome buckles) were sometimes color coded sometimes not. Deluxe belts were always (except for white interior) color coded.

Just got a look at the 70 GP balck leather interiors I was having done. One set finished one to go. They look great to say the least. I do have the old covers available for pattern but unfortunately the odd rectangular buttons are not availabe for the 70 cars. You need 8 per car. PIcs next week.
