I know there are some out there, so lets see some pictures.
Here's my 79 recently out of the paint shop.

Iowa, I like that color! I also prefer the black grille of the 79 over the 78. Is that a NOS nosecrest? See the latest GA on ebay?

Default That is some collection

Hey Iowa, looks like you might have the largest collection in the world of 78-81 GA's, I count 5, how many do you have? Any factory manual shifts?

Don, the nose crest is NOS. Only one side of the grill is though. I had 2 left 78's and 2 right 79's.
Don't you have a Roman Red and Platinum 78 you're working on?

BR57, I have 3 1/2 four speed cars.
Here's a picture of the one I'd consider a 1/2. It needs buffed out.

I am sure you will "Bring it Back Alive" but it is tough seeing such a rare car in state.

Iowa, yes I have a 78 Roman Red/Platinum that is undergoing restomod. I just recently added the doors and fenders. The car still needs bodywork and paint Question........I've got ripples in the rubber header panel.......that area above the grilles. Any of your cars have that going on? I'll try to post a picture.

BR, the only thing alive about this car will be the tree growing through the floor. There is no frame under the door jambs and the rear springs are in the trunk (and on the rear).
It does look much better since I powerwashed the interior. Ironically, the dash is crack free and soft.

Don, The ripples are on about all of my header panels. Must be due to shrinkage. I have 2 NOS and they are still smooth. We'll see later if they even fit.
What do you mean by restomod? Last picture I saw the car was gutted.
My first Grand Am was a Roman Red 78 with red cloth buckets and counsol. Tilt, cruise, A/C, slap shifter, 4 barrel and dog dish hubcaps. Really low optioned.

The 4 speed floor shift cousol is unique to these cars. The Malibu will work, but it is slightly different towards the front change pocket.
That does look like one fast Lemans........

The picture is of my first 78. Must be in 89 or 90. The color was 1989 Chevy truck red.

That's a pretty stout E.T. for that 60' time. Low 10.20's or teens with some low 1.40's, huh?
Don't see many of these cars doing what were doing with them; they really get over-shadowed by their Malibu counterparts. Nice ride.

Looks good man! I'm having some issues with upgrades, finding the right parts etc, but the car was so nice to start with that I got a good head start by not having to do a lot of basic stuff.
I'd like to have one of those calanders, keep me in the loop.

Nice Grand Am article. That Pontiac dealer sure did a great pre-delivery inspection...NOT!
That B19 Custom Trim Group....you'd think they would refer to "buckets" somehow.
Buckets were available in all vinyl or cloth/vinyl combination.
I'm assuming that speedometer replaced the original?
