Default sump things are not that hard

I have put a sump in my z28 recently, but I was not going to play with a old tank. (I weld diesel tanks all day long, but gas... I had a bad experiance when I was much younger with a used tank) Gas tanks these days are fairly cheep so why not do it right from the get go? I bought a new tank and sump kit from summit. easy directions on the cutting template, then tig welded the sump to the bottom of the tank. You can mig weld, but heat is a problem with the thin metal a gas tank is made of. the instructions recomend using a liquid tank sealer, like a eastwood product after you are finished. A good tig job most likely would not require that step? I would think if you gathered up the parts and even did the cutting of the required holes you could easly find a welding shop that would do an excelent job in NYC. The prep work takes the time so if you have the holes layed out and cut, the sump positioned and marked where it is to be welded, that would save you some shop time. The welding may be an hour or so depending on the shop.

Last year it was mighty cold but it was a great show. Lots of cars showed up and lots of racers also. As long as there is no rain in the forcast it is a great event for the day.
We will be there set up as a vendor. CustomAutoApparel.com Come and see us there. It is our last show of the year.

I am going for sure, and thinking of racing my 70' GTO......I have a friend that wants a 66 or 67 GTO that said he's coming down from the Poconos.
Anyone have 1 for sale thats coming? He wants a nice clean driver with modern brakes, A/C ect.
He's not interested in a 100 pt #'s car.
Thanks Dave

Default plan be at BOP Nov 3

If all goes as planned will have 4 cars there, three for track one for show. 69 judge 68 gto 67gto and 69 firebird.. Nothing radical but we have fun.

Not sure what's on the agenda so far but I'm hoping to be there.

Anyone know if the swap meet at Kowtown is that same weekend? I heard it's on Sunday 2 weeks from yesterday but not sure if it's on Saturday or not. I need to stop in and pick up some 800 degree engine paint, and I'd like to do that on the way up to Atco.
