I liked the earlier shows with Mark and his friends from high school. His antics are kind of childish but that what you do with your friends in the garage, talk crap about each other. Royal the bald guy still comes around and the banter between the two is comical. I like the episodes with Goldberg in them and the crap he talks to Mark. There is one episode I know I had seen a F-body on a lift. He is showing his daughter a mopar on a lift and what to order and next door is a F-body. So just shows how everyone likes F-bodies.
I like the show Garage Squad, they go to people houses and help them jump start there projects. The majority of cars I have seen on GC are classics a few newer ones like a Typhon. Good show and the people they help are usually needy and not the greedy.

In the overall picture, dont have a problem with Mark Worman & his show. I do appreciate nicely restored late 60's, early 70's high performance Mopars. Graveyard Cars is the only cable TV car show that I DVD & take time to watch, usually once or twice a month late in the evening after I've come in from out in the shop. Do I appreciate Mark's stupid antics, NO. I typically fast forward through the contrived drana with Will, his Mopar trivia lessons to his daughter, the yearly SEMA build, his clone car builds, & other BS. Have caught chaneel flicking blurbs from much of what else is on, i.e. the high drama contraption buildin shows... very hard to stomach. Just don't have time for it.

GC I rarely watch...don't care much for the nitpicking on a build. Fantom Works and garage Squad are what I watch mostly. I'm more into the repair/restore/fab. Garage Squad is local to the Chicago area too.
What REALLY drives me crazy tho are when these "pros" are trying to start a car with the carb PCV port wide open or they don't know how to set the initial timing for starting. George

If Mark could discipline himself to cut back on the antics for an hour at a time, he would make an excellent H.S. autoshop teacher. ('Cept I doubt they would teach this old school car stuff in a modern school) When I first started watching GC, his way of explaining things held me captive.
When I was in H.S. we had a biology teacher who was similar to Mark with the subtle wise cracks and inside jokes, but to a lesser degree of frequency. Everybody loved him. He drove a '73 Catalina sport coupe from new until the 1979 gas crunch. |

This past Fridays episode was great. It was all about teaching about Mopars and showing the work being done. No fake drama or nonsense.

I noticed that as well, the clowning around was kept to a minimum. Maybe they are listening to what the viewers think.

Dumbest show ever! Every episode is the same. Mark Worman the socially challenged car nerd who can recite VIN numbers from memory and feels the need to explain every serial number in grave detail as if people on TV care..... D-bag!!! I'd rather listen to my kids scream in my ear.
I like full custom garage with Ian Roussel on motor trend TV. That guy is a true craftsman and very talented, and there is very little TV drama baked into the show. I also like bitchin rides.

That’s funny I’m just the opposite I can’t stand full custom garage. I wouldn’t give you $20.00 for anything I have seen them make on that show. I watched it a few times just couldn’t stand it kinda like mad chad customs can’t watch it either.

Almost turned off last Friday's show. Didn't recognize the host's persona and thought I had a different channel on.

I love the concept of pure numbers restorations, and some of the details of the builds and manufacturing techniques back in the day, but Worman is too much of an acquired taste.
We need to get Rocky, Cliff and the other Pontiac experts on the forum to start their own show and make it only about Pontiacs.

Easily the worst show on Motortrend OnDemand, imo.
All the non-cable shows blow the Discovery ones out of the water-- Roadkill, HotRod Garage, Engine Masters, Dirt Every Day... (I could go on.) |

Hard to say if it's Worman or not. He and his crew might go along with it but I think the real culprits are the shows producers.
A club I used to belong to had a show on the network that M/T took over. The show lasted one season. The reason it wasn't renewed was the people from the club refused to add the drama the producers were asking for. I never watch those shows because they appeal to immature teens and pre teens. Perfect roll models for kids aren't they? Watch out for the Discovery channels hidden agenda in their programs as well. You will also find this on PBS and Smithsonian. Take all so called facts with a grain of salt. Last edited by U47; 08-28-2020 at 01:11 PM. |

I gotta ask... what's their hidden agenda? To sell car parts?

No, on Discovery, Smithsonian, PBS they don't advertise selling car parts.

I'm just so intrigued, not trying to be a jerk. Those channels aren't even run by the same companies, they're competitors....
I got rid of cable years ago, aren't all the ads just for Cialis and buying gold coin scams? Are you saying they're all part of the evil left-wing conspiracy? Is PBS taking people's guns? |

If this is some sort of veiled reference to political leanings, don't go there...

Mark Worman aside, there is Will the painter with his homeless person look and pseudo-intellectual, low IQ commentaries on Mark Worman and the shop in general. It may be his "schtick" but its tiresome. The guy has some kind of borderline personality disorder or chronic depression.
