Electronic Distributor Conversion Kits ??

Has anyone used one of the PerTronix Ignitor® Solid-State Ignition Systems? I am thinking about buying one for my 62 Tempest. I am in the process of a complete re-wire of the car. I know that the original wiring had a resistor wire going to the coil. All of the original wiring has been removed. My options are to use a ceramic resistor and keep the points distributor, or update to the electronic conversion and skip the resistor. Figured now was a good time to do it.
