I posted in the body shop section but wanted to ask here as well. Looking for some clarification and advise on the correct color of primer prior to paint for my Pontiac built 64 Yorktown Blue GTO.
1. What color of primer was used prior to paint? Looks like there was a coat of black applied to the bare metal and then red oxide over this prior to paint. Is this correct and if not what is? 2. What is the correct method that was useed to apply the seam sealer between the trunk pan and the wheel wells as well as the trunk pan and 1/4 panel extensions? Was it brushed after application or just applied as a flat bead? Any pictures of factory application would be appreciated. 3. Was there seam sealer applied prior to installation or after installation to the metal trunk floor pan plugs? Any assistance to these questions would deeply be appreciated. Thank you |
