70 Bermuda Blue/ Sandlewood Judge
Just found this car at a local show and the owner asked if I would help him sell it. I'll list in the for sale section shortly. Its numbers a matching Oshawa built RAIII automatic car. Thanks

Non AC car?
OSHAWA plant seemed to have done some odd things. Would be interested what the car has as an original rear end. 3.55 coded Pontiac 8.2 ten bolt or a 3.55 coded McKinnon 12 bolt?

anyone find it interesting they have those numbers off the block on the Canada cars verifiable and were on the protecto plate. they also have these on the America produced cars but don't give them out. I know, I have the documents on some of mine who were given to me by a guy that worked there many years before it was ever phs dating back to the late 70's.
ps- what a nice xmas present he gave himself or someone. |

Interesting thing about the options... the car has F40, never seen that on a Judge or any car with Y96 for that matter. Y96 was the ride and handling option (firmer shocks and springs) that in 1970 was optional on the GTO and a mandatory option with any optional engine (including all judges of course). The F40 is the heavy duty suspension option which wasn't a handling package but basically the wagon suspension on a non wagon. It made the car sit quite a bit higher and was designed for encyclopedia salesmen types.
Factory literature makes it clear you couldn't have both. Could be a typo from the Canadian documentation service, unlike PHS you are getting a hand transferred document and they can make mistakes. Anyone ever seen a car with both Y96 and F40? (by the way Y96 was included in the price of a 69 Judge but was charged separately on 70-71 Judges).

Nice colors and classically optioned automatic Judge, with steering, brakes, console, STT, etc.
Would really pop with the stripes, tires and good detailing

It's one guy who pulls up the vehicle information and will record some (but not necessarily all) of the RPO codes affiliated with that car; So items which would come standard with a given car package, and not actually options, are shown on this document; Here is one I recently found on a car similar to mine: note that the following RPO's would NOT be shown on PHS, as they were standard equipment for the model, and not options: D35 H02 M13 N30 U05 W66 The latter was actually the model RPO - which would have enacted all the prior items. So when the Judge package was selected there would have been options added over the 'base' GTO that would have been on the build sheet, but not as options per say, and would therefore have been absent from a PHS document. Hopefully that makes sense

This Judge lives in North Carolina now.
Another PY member negotiated a deal on it after its last auction appearance. He is very happy with it. |
