Old negatives
I came across some old negatives and was able to use my phone to take a picture and then was able to get a reverse negative.
Multnomah falls in Oregon, probably from the 40's. I am going to see if I can get an enlarged print to hang on the wall.

Cool picture!
Try scanning the negative may give more detail also?

If interested there are shops that can take old photos that are faded and use photo editing software to bring them back closer to normal.

I was looking for a place that could print an enlarged picture. Haven't searched too much as of yet.
I only have the negatives and would hate have to send them somewhere to get lost. I have seen negative scanners on line but for a couple pictures, too expensive. I have a copier but doubt that would work. Maybe I can find someone local to have them scanned with high resolution.

My parents grew up in the Portland during the 30s-40s. They honeymooned along the Columbia River gorge and took lots of photos including Multnomah Falls. I've tried to replicate the locations and their poses. Its a credit to the Oregon State Park system that the original small two lane highway and most of the landmarks have largely been unchanged since then but a fire, a few years ago, devastated the eastern section of the Gorge.
The crowds, unfortunately, have grown significantly larger.

As OG68 says the crowds are huge. You have to have reservations now as there is no room to park that will hold all those wanting to see the falls, which still look pretty much like the picture.

I cleaned out my old bedroom in MA a few weeks ago and I found a ton of old negatives. So I'm sending them to Legacy Box so they can be digitized and put on a thumb drive.

Awesome picture. Copyright and make a few prints for the tourist shop and I bet they'd sell.
Thanks for sharing. |

Check to see if you have a local photographer or photo shop in your area.
I’ve had several prints made off old family negatives I’ve found for a very reasonable price |
