My understanding is that he formerly was an employee of the Ben Franklin of pontiacs...

Came all the way over from England to work for him after buying into "Mr. Wonderful's" spiel about how great he is.

Guess he too, like MANY others, learned the truth about him!

No personal experiences with Andy,so I personally cant give an opinion one way or the other.

He seems well liked and resected by most who I have heard talk about him,so I dont hold his past against him.

I know this though,if I were him I would'nt want to make it too well known who my previous employer was...

It probably explains the attention from the mags somewhat though.

Impressive numbers regardless.

I met Andy at Pontiac Heaven earlier this year.
He is a very nice guy and very knowledgeable.

My understanding is that Big Tim and Andy are working together. Tim was working at Dougans and both of these guys know their stuff.

I dealt with Andy for a short time while my first motor was at Dirtbags engineering. Andy quit long before my soon to fail engine was assembled. We later hooked up through the Socal pontiac grapevine and although he had nothing to do with my 455's demise he felt bad for me and offered a screaming deal to get me on the road again, If that wasn't enough he also offered me the chance to assemble it myself under his eye in his shop if money was tight.

Problem is Andy work for Bruce for 3 YEARS and lived at his house for some of that time, Question? if Bruce is a "crook" like some of you think he is. wouldn't that make Andy a willing accomplice to work there that long? how can you trust the guy! something for you all to think about!

P406, your a real piece of work. Do you think Rod Hot would ask Andy to do the 505 Hot Rod motor, Plus Car Carft a motor for them, if they thought he was anything like Bruce, of course NOT! Why do you think they went to Andy, instead Mr.Nut case, who everyone knows and miss trust so much. Wake up man!

That's Ok, I woke up a long time ago, Bruce had his 670 HP 350 featured in Car Craft a couple of years ago,so there, truth be known, Andy probably met Dave Frieburger thru Bruce. doubt they "picked' him, more like he offered them a heck of a deal in exchange for the ink in the magazines!

I think it is time to let Andy have his own reputation. Not fair to BASH him before he gets a chance to do his own thing. One fact that is very important, he doesn't work for BF now. JMHO.

Yes, let's let Andy stand on his own from now on, Please.

Please keep this thread on track.

The motor sounds great, I can't wait to see it in a car for some times to go along with the numbers.

Andy, Great job with another IA II motor. It could not of been done without one. We have worked with Andy for some time. He is one of our west coast dealers of AllPontiac.com parts.

I make us at AllPontiac proud to see all of this new power made with our blocks. All of the fastest pontiacs this year have the IA II motor.

Look out for the AllPontiac/Butler Aluminum block to do the same at Norwalk race in 05.

Pretty impressive numbers for heads that reportably flow 312 cfm at .700" lift.

Yes sir the Westech dyno.... it has been the dyno of choice for the inflated Hollywood stars in the past.

This time it suggests that both the formulas for prediction of horsepower based on airflow numbers are incorrect. One by SuperFlow and one developed by Air Flow Research, both suggest the motor should have made about 100 hp less than it did on the Westech Performance Group dyno.

What's up ?

horsepower = 0.254714 x cfm @28" x number of cylinders

(Plus the formulas are for the complete airflow thru the system including the cylinder head, manifold, and carburetor)

It will be interesting to read the magazine article.
Congrats Andy.

In the past i always heard or read about big dyno #'s. But not about track results. Maybe i dont read the right publications?
Now that Andy is on his own so to speak, that will happen.
