But they have no pan rail.

Spend another C note and get some from Moroso.

Not always "straight" and they require the bolt holes in the heads to be modified for use with the attachment bolts.

Take a look at the sheet metal covers at Billet Fabrications.

Like Steve said, we covered these years back.
Mine required @ 7 hours of rework (welding, drilling, grinding, buffing, & polishing to accomodate the correct 5/16" fasteners used in Poncho heads. Them the mateing rails are only 1/4" thick. This doesn't produce a problem w/ mine as they seal just fine. But there are the completely straight issues, as well. But when complete they are the best looking non-engraved covers available. Personally, I would not buy them new and do all the required work to make "right". I paid $90.00 for mine used and went from there.

I ALWAYS THOUGHT A SET OF VALVE COVERS THAT WERE CLEAR WOULD BE COOL, THAT WAY YOU CAN SEE THE NICE THINGS UNDER THEM, LIKE THE SHAFT MOUNT ROCKERS ETC ETC

Comparably priced to the Uniques, without the problems as noted in the earlier posts.

We had similar problems with my Unique valve covers as mentioned here, but once installed they look great.

Jeff Johnson's Billet Fabrications at
http://www.billetfab.com
Their sheet metal valve cover is very similar to the one Larry N. has pictured above (in fact they might supply it to the source where Larry got his). It is a Pro Series cover for Pontiac in the GM section, but erroneously labeled as "small block". Apparatntly it is available with and without the Pontiac logo. To each his own but some, including myself, do not want a logo on their covers. Also note the welding located on the top around where the attaching bolt heads would be... to me it looks "messy" and cluttered compared to the Unique valve covers.

Billet Fab makes top drawer stuff. Ive got one of their oil pans and its a shame it has to go on the bottom where it cant be seen.

The cast covers look nice but for many they are not tall enough for stud girdles or Shaft systems. And they don't seem to harmonize well (or look good) with the shape of the alum valve cover spacers available out there to make them taller.... but again that's opinion.

I HAVE A TIG WELDER, I COULD PROBABLY MAKE SOME NICE VALVE COVERS, BUT AS FAR AS THE TIME INVOLVED IM NOT SURE ITS WORTH IT WHEN I CAN JUST BUY SOME FOR UNDER $300.00 DOLLARS

I bought those covers used for $150 a couple of years ago. They were posted here on PY and was lucky to get'em. The covers sell new for $295 or $299.
I'm with Steve on the welding around the bolt holes, but for $150 it wasn't an issue.

Steve, good point.

Suppose I'm "not there yet" so much on the valve cover art, Still using 20year old $10 M/T Cast covers just visible in the Avatar. They clear everyhing (vac brake boost) with the thick gaskets.
