So, no one can come up with a better excuse than "I don't like to read"?

What a black mark on Pontiac racers........

Hell i would love to. But my excuse is i don't have the money to build a car to compete in heads up raceing. After all thats why they came up with bracket raceing. For poor people like me. As long as I get to race I'm happy and content with 10.30's

I respect you more for being honest than the cop outs most of these guys used.

However, I showed last year with a 10 second car and had a blast. You get at least three passes guaranteed, then you can buy into Test and Tune for the rest of the day if you wish.

The last couple races I attended with my car I could have made 15 passes if I wanted to.

If you get a chance, you should really try to make it. Its a fun day.

Bruce, your track is not the only one that has a heads up class. 75-80 has had one for the last several years, called OPS (Outlaw Pro Street). Their rules are very basic, and wouldn't take up half a page of 8.5x11 paper...double spacing. They run it 1/8th mile on a .400 pro tree. Most cars are in the mid 5's. It's become so popular, that they've started a 6.0 heads up class too. The fans dig it and the purse is always at least $1000 to win. So you see, we don't have to travel to Massatwo****s for a heads up race. Check it out on their web site, www.7580dragway.com.

The main problem I see is the location of the track. Why should anyone who does not live in the surrounding area of the track go? I could go to 1 of 5 tracks and run heads up on any given weekend. There rules are more relaxed and the racing is still competitive. If I were going to travel a large distance it would be to run in the clash. I've already built my car for a differant set of rules that are common to all the tracks in my area, I sure others are the same. There is a differance in showing up to do it and actually fielding a car that is competitive. I'm sure no one goes to be an also ran.....

So Goatman I guess you agree with Mike S. that a heads up car costs more than a bracket car? I'm so confussssed! Eric.

I disagree. A black mark on Pontiac racers is when someone likes Pontiac cars, thinks he can race them, only to find out that he does not have the knowledge and skill to make it fast enough. Rather the learn from talented racers, he ditches his Pontiac’s, has no race car, and nothing better to do then badmouth the old Pontiac that he could not understand. He of course feels that a mustang is a far superior car, but mostly because someone that does understand them has already spent the time and the $, combined with their knowledge, to make it fast.

You see, if Bruce had stayed with Pontiac's, he would have had to accept the fact that his "celebrity status" was not omnipotent, and that to go faster, he would have to lower himself to the level of us plebeians and ask for help with what he did not understand. Unfortunately, his insecurities prevented this, and kept him from participating in what he enjoyed, Pontiacs. Now he is only able to glimpse at his true dream by hanging around a Pontiac board, trying to start static because he resents the talent of those that he could not learn from. Truly a black mark as even you could have had some useful input into the hobby.

Keep talking Goatman, I’m just starting to have fun.

What I find interesting is the guy that post about heads up racing has the least drag racing experience on the board not to mention no credentials to back his mouth up--

Do you have the "intestinal fortitude" to put your money where your mouth is?

We got a legitimate player waiting to hear back...

BVR, check your facts, you just embarassed yourself.

So no one has the guts to show is what everyone is saying?

I am dissapointed, but not surprised. Can't hide in the brackets when you're up here boys....

Hello... is this thing on???

I'll say it again; we got a Pontiac player that's up for it. Are you up to a wager regarding the same?
Will qualify in the top 1/3 of any field put together.

Bruce? Oh, Bruce? Go back and read my previous post. I can go to 75-80 on just about any Friday night and run heads up in the OPS series, and probably for a larger purse than at your track.

No need to drive to Massatwo****s and hang out with Massholes when 75-80 is less than an hour away.

Mr. "I've only made 25 passes down a dragstrip in my life" Celebrity.

You know, its a funny thing......

Ray has my number, Ray has my e-mail, and he needs Larry to get a deal done?

Bring me my waders........ I smell something.

Brian, I am happy you can stay local and run heads up. I seriously doubt the payouts are bigger, but as long as you're heads up racing, you'll always have more fun than in the brackets....

$1000 to win with a 16 car field. What's your track paying, Bruce?

Seeing how Ray is currently in Florida w/ the car and is "tweaking" it prior to Atlanta's Pro series race, how can he respond???
He & I discussed it several days ago.
Soo how much are you prepared to wager?
Top 1/3 of the class. Maybe better, just depends on how thing shake out in Atlanta.
