I know the gto had the chrome around the outside. Can the chrome be put on a tailight lens that never had it on? Or are there two types of lens? It seems to me there is a little ledge on the gto one were the chrome goes on.

Lense is the same. I believe the chrome is a separate item that was friction (forced) fit on the lense. I believe the LeMans Sport had the same chrome trim.

Im not certain but I think they are different. I am pretty sure the GTO lens has a smaller outline platic lip so that the metal will slip on it correctly. It been a while but I was asking the same question before I finally got a decent set of gto lenses and found out they were indeed different, I just cant remember the specifics.
