My friends 67 gto has started putting out white smoke on the drivers side exhaust. If correct I believe this is a sign of water getting into one of the cyl.The leading suspect would be the intake gasket as an alum intake was put on the car about three weeks ago and he just statred using the car.Need help with any test that can be done to make sure that there is not head gasket failure. Thanks for the help.Engine is baiscly a stock motor

Intake would be a good place to start.

warm the motor up with the radiator cap off/full radiator to the neck and look down in to the water and if there are a lot of small bubbles it is probably a blown head gasket. also check the water temp as a blown head gasket will run hotter than normal to very hot

Check the spark plugs on the drivers side. If one looks different, that cylinder may be "burning" coolant.
If it is #1, it could be the intake, but on the ones I have seen, it is a long way for water to leak from the water crossover passage at the front of the head to the #1 cylinder. |

David, why would it be the intake? Water doesn't come close to a port or anything.
