How or what is the best way to get oil (that has burnt in) off Alumi coated headers?

Looks like crap.

I've heard of using oven cleaner, but have never tried it.

I found a cleaner called sd20.I dont know about the header stains you have but it will take off shoe polish that has been on lexan for years and does not hurt the lexan.I would try it.Brian

I have used SOS pads(steel wool) and oven cleaner on my exhaust with good results. If the coating is real new and shiny the steel wool may be on the aggresive side. Try it on the back side first in case it dulls it too much...

Im a fan of the Castrol Super Clean too.......I keep a couple gallons of the stuff on hand at all times. I have even used it to clean oil/tranny fluid off my concrete before.
