I have a 389 and don't know where the oil pressure sending unit goes. Or is there a spot on the engine? I was going to try a search but its not working now. Thanks in advance!

Back in '59, I think I remember there being a 1/8" NPT tapped hole in the aluminum mount for the canister-type filter. I don't know if the later 389's also had such a hole.

I found the spot. Its a small plug on the end of the oil filter housing.

that is the factory sender spot. Gets a lot of heat from the exhaust. I changed mine & put it in the oil gallery next to the distributor. Gives a more accurate reading as to what the actual oil pressure is. Suggest you put the oil light sender in the spot on the filter & install an additional gage plumbed into the dist. oil plug.
